The Work of Salvation

The objective work

In spite of this general corruption and this condemnation, God, in His grace [112], wants to complete a covenant with the fallen man [113].

Through His sole and own kindness and mercy [114], God wanted to lead to glory many sons [115].

In His eternal and unchanging will [116], before the foundation of the world He chose us in Christ [117], and this without considering our works [118].In His love, He predestined us to adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ in the praise of His glory [119].

In Him, what was essential to our salvation [120] has been offered [121] and communicated to us [122]. He is the source [123], the means [124] and the purpose [125].

God sent His son to demonstrate His justice [126]; Jesus’ death allows a total forgiveness and restoration thorough redress, and frees us from all our sins [127]. He died once for all [128]; His sacrifice of atonement [129] and His blood are necessary and fully sufficient for us to obtain redemption, [130], forgiveness and purification from all our sins [131].

Every sin deserves death [132]; every sin will be forgiven [133], except blasphemy against the Spirit [134].

Jesus Christ redeems us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us [135]. He set aside the commands and regulations condemning us [136].

At the cross, He has crucified the sinful nature with its pains [137]; He freed us from sin [138]. He overcame all the power of Satan who has been already judged [139]. His reign will be fully established after he has destroyed his enemies (dominions, authorities, powers [140], and finally death [141]).

Now he has reconciled us to the Father through his blood shed on the cross [142].
