The last times

The rapture of the Church

At a fixed time, very quickly, with a loud command, the Lord himself will come down from heaven to catch up the Church.

The dead in Christ will rise first, imperishable. After that, we, who are still alive, will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and so we will be with the Lord forever [495].

If, due to the work of Christ, through mere grace, we escape the condemnation of the sinners [496], we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ to receive what is due for the things done in the body [497]. The motive of men’s hearts will be exposed [498]. Some will be saved but only as if they escape through the flames, the others will be rewarded [499] (praise [500], crowns [501], glory [502], etc.).

Then Jesus-Christ will allow the Church to present itself, as a radiant bride, without stain or wrinkle [503] and he will be united to it at the supper of the Lamb [504].
